sURNAME DISTRIBUTION MAPS

Using maps for a surname in a particular country are very helpful in my Scottish ancestry. Historical events can bring a change of residence to your ancestor. My own was when one of my ancestral grandfather’s could not practice his profession in Scotland he and his family moved to Northern Ireland.

Two maps I added to my study were very helpful showing the area where they lived at birth, and Londonderry, Northern Ireland where they died.
